Simply install Server 2008, 64bit, R2 version, run windows update, and then add a server role of Hyper-V

To install linux on Hyper-V, you can install linux no problem. But not network card, to install the network card you need to download and install integration components. Its an ISO you download and then mount to the VM. Inside the VM you need to mount the DVD:
